“Involve me . . . please.” – Student’s plea

Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Today I am grateful for first-class teachers who not only teach content, they also help each student to become more actively involved in his or her own learning processes, to take charge of their own learning if you like.

It is interesting to me, Doc, that learned Chinese scholars, noted for their attention to literature and research, go beyond their “bookish” spheres and also become experts in music, chess, calligraphy and painting.

Thank you, Chinese scholars, for showing us that “bookish” ways can be augmented with serious interest and expertise in other arts and skills.
