“I am grateful for sickness.” – Doc Meek

Monday, October 25, 2010. Today I am grateful for my vertigo attack on Sunday. Grateful? Yes, I can learn even from sickness.

The nausea accompanying my vertigo gives me greater empathy for pregnant women who have “morning sickeness,” especially when it lasts all day and into the night. I carried my “barf bucket” with me everywhere just as my daughter Tanya did when she was pregnant.

Sickness also gives me greater empathy for anyone with any kind of affliction.

Likewise, my brothers Craig and Conrad came and ministered unto me. I am so grateful for them! I feel so much better today!

And Val brought me some chicken and potatoes for later, when my stomach stopped rebelling against perfectly good food. 😮

Thank you Val!

Nothing like potatoes to warm an Irishman’s heart, eh? 😮

Here’s to angels, from on high, and in our neighborhood!

P.S. My beloved spouse Jeannette writes to me:

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Collins, Happy Birthday to you!

May God bless you today! May God bless you today! May God bless you and keep you! May God bless you today!

Thank you, Jeannette!
